We had to switch up our training schedule because of a big snowstorm. I put in my workout hours shoveling the driveway and sidewalks instead of punching and kicking.
Been thinking a bit about how training feels different this time around. It's good to have a sense of what to expect and what's expected of you. I think I am spending less time feeling anxious about training and more time enjoying training. I feel like I am learning some things more quickly than I have in the past, but I don't know how to explain that, really. Probably just a side effect of continuing my training since our last test. Sometimes things just feel like they are clicking faster, which is a good thing.
I almost feel like first degree is my true admission into the black belt "club." So many people seem to quit once they get black belt, but in my experience, the time since the test has been a whole different kind of learning for me. Learning more details, and helping others learn basics. When you combine learning with teaching, I think your own understanding and internalization of the knowledge has exponential growth. So for me, getting this next belt will be an acknowledgment of having truly arrived.
